alright, let's get started. what's going on? well, where do i begin...
i've said a lot about new project(s) that i'm currently concerning myself with. they've drawn a lot away from writing in general. rather, i feel that currently i am in a slump as far as short story/poetry is related but that will or may yet change as these next two projects wrap up or begin to take a tangible form. i also left an outline of a few stories in my room at college so that's preventing me from work on those. nuff said about that.
project one that i'm focusing on is a noir/dystopian radio series. based on the kind of format of radio plays and dramas they usually air over in the land of britain. it's not set in britain, rather a dystopian world much like the early two thousand tens. the city or at least the country where it takes place lives under the eye of a powerful, all-seeing organization that hangs over the head of every citizen. under this rule, one of the workers of this very organization finds faults in the system and begins to uncover pieces of the greater puzzle. only a few episodes have been finished being written. it originally started out as a possible film but i've been always intrigued by the world of the radio series and especially with the abilities of today's podcasting options and whatnot. of course, i was naturally inspired as well by welcome to night vale, the popular podcast series but i thought a single narrator would not be suitable for this. kind of developed for another reason based on a film i wrote a while back that dealt with a dystopian future and envisioned this as a sequel. but it is no longer. though there are, of course, it's influences.
project two is a resurrection of a much older project that i discovered while cleaning up some writing pieces. originally, the script was going to be turned into a graphic novel when i began it sometime long ago. it may have been two years ago, maybe three now. called 'greatland' i outlined it as a full series of graphic novels but of course, i did not even finish the first volume. in fact however, in all my outlines and plans, i only got as far as info for the second volume. well i do not plan to write the remaining volumes but since i have over half the first one complete, i thought i'll finish it and turn it into a comic book series. it's an adventure of these three unique characters and their quest to get back home or at least find a new one. but the story goes on and they meet some kids from this world and find their way into the house of a mad scientist. a riveting abstract tale, i know.
it has been increasingly difficult to find artists interested in working on either project. no one seems interested in drawing a comic book series or doing visuals for the radio series that have no money in them. the life of a poor starving artist i suppose. i don't wanna put the first project on the back burner any time soon but i suppose the latter may yet find it's way there first. once the episodes get finished, i'll start recording i assume. but who knows. only time will tell. till then, gotta keep writing and working. moving forward and whatnot. i'll try to update stuff and keep peeps periodically updated on what's going on with that. but that, along with college and internships and job for the coming seasons will certainly keep me busy. thank goodness i have some free time to start working again. so cheers to that.
talk to you again soon. well probably.
